I believe every business in the world (even a funeral home!) needs a newsletter – and it’s my aim to help them start one.

Simon Payn: Hi. I’m Simon, president of Ready to Go Newsletters.

Now, a lot of people ask me, “Who are these newsletters for?” And I’ve got a simple answer. If you want to be in the top 10 percent of your profession, these newsletters can help you do that.

I’ve got a simple truth for you. Most people don’t do anything to build their business. They’re what I call the mediocre middle.

So why do newsletters help you get to the top 10 percent of your profession? Two reasons:

One is, they help you build a reputation as a trusted expert. Now, the thing is, no one wants to be seen as a salesman. You need to position yourself away from being a salesman towards being an expert. Now, if you’re an expert, it means that people come to you, rather than you go to them. It means they have a relationship with you and they trust that you are going to help them.

You’re positioned as someone who’s an advisor, someone who has the best interests of your clients in mind, rather than someone who’s just pushing a product. Newsletters help do that, because they allow you to publish information that is of help, assistance and entertainment to your clients and prospects.

Two, they help you contact them on a regular basis. You can keep your name in front of clients. You can show that you can help clients every week or every month.

Newsletters help you start that relationship, and they help you build a relationship in the inbox or the mailbox of your client.

Of course, not everyone is ready to buy right away, but when they are ready to buy, you’re going to be the person they think of – the person who they trust, and who they know.

Like I say, most people don’t do any of this. But it’s been proven, time and time again, that if you want to be in the top 10 percent of your industry, if you want to make more money than 90 percent of other people in your industry, newsletters are a perfect way to do that.
